The Most Important in Brief
Dynamo Camp Foundation Onlus has the sole aim of social solidarity and operates, not for profit, in the social and social/health assistance sector. The Foundation runs a vacation camp, located in San Marcello Piteglio in the heart of Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, open all year round, that hosts (free of charge) children and youngsters aged 6 -17, affected by onco-haematological and neurological conditions and with disabilities, from all over Italy, Europe and the Mediterranean Basin. As the diagnosis of a disease affects not only the sick child but also his/her entire family, Dynamo Camp dedicates specific programs to families with sick children and other programs aimed to their brothers and sisters. Dynamo Camp's mission is to offer to these children the opportunity to be able to be "just children" and to their families to enjoy a peaceful holiday and create new relationships with other families that share the same experiences. Dynamo Camp offers different Recreational Therapy programs: •Sessions for only Campers, children and teenagers with serious and chronic diseases and disabilities (8-10 days per session); •Siblings sessions, that foresee the hospitality of brothers and sisters of sick children (one-week sessions); •Family Sessions, that foresee the hospitality of the entire family unit (consisting of both weekends and 8- to 10 day sessions), during school holiday breaks; •Extraordinary Sessions, that foresee the hospitality of different target groups such as children and youngsters that live in socio-economic marginalized conditions, mother and child unit, adults with disabilities; •Dynamo Programs, activities that bring Recreational Therapy out of the Camp, for children and teenagers who cannot reach the Camp in Tuscany, for reasons related to the pathology or because they live in family houses. •Dynamo City Camps, activities that bring Recreational Therapy out of the Camp through a continuous and stable way in different Italian cities; •LIT Programs (Leaders in training) and ALUMNI, addressed to campers and ex-campers that are trained to become Dynamo volunteers (LIT) and campers and ex-campers that are involved in programs that foresee the development of their skills (Alumni).
