Need for Action
A new law provides hope for better care and preventive actions. Now is the time to act: ensuring laws are implemented, victims get physical and psychological care, effective redress and a chance of economic independence

Measures
1) Awareness and capacity building (targetting especially public services; ) 2) legal support to access justice, medical care and physical rehabilitation 3) Physcological support and counselling for survivors; safe spaces and livelihood options.

Cooperation Partner
Burn Violence Survivors Nepal is ActionAid Nepal's partner. Together we target women, men and boys associations, national, provincial and local security forces and other executive and judical authorities, hospitals, schools.

Impact
Through the project 150 acid and burn attack victims will have access to better care and remedies. Many more will benefit by better awareness of the new law, its preventive impact and its implementation, better access to redress and care.

Special Quality of the Project; Suitability of the Organization
The project holistc approach is the result of a unique collaboration between existing survivors associations (BVS) and ActionAid, better known in Nepal for its awareness raising and policy campaigns to stop Violence Against Women.
