Project Duration October 17, 2025 - October 20, 2025

Schweizermeisterschaft KDK 2025

  1. Goal
Powerlifting is an incredible sport that builds strength, confidence, and community. But in Switzerland, it’s still not as accessible as it should be. Many people, especially women and beginners, don’t feel like they have a place in the sport. Some are held back by old stereotypes, while others simply don’t know where to start or feel overwhelmed by the competitive scene. We want to change that. Our goal is to host the best powerlifting competition Switzerland has ever seen. Not just in terms of organization and performance, but in the way it welcomes and includes everyone. We want to create an event where men and women feel equally seen and supported. A competition where newcomers feel just as valued as experienced lifters. A space where the energy is positive, respectful, and inspiring for all. Through this project, we hope to show that powerlifting in Switzerland can be for everyone—no matter your background, gender, or experience level.

  3. Need for Action
If we want powerlifting in Switzerland to grow and thrive, we need to make it more open, inclusive, and visible. Right now, too many people are missing out on the sport—not because they lack the passion or potential, but because the environment isn’t yet welcoming or accessible enough. We need to create opportunities that actively invite women and newcomers into the sport. We need events that celebrate all lifters, not just the top competitors. And we need a platform that breaks down stereotypes and shows the true diversity and strength of the powerlifting community. This competition is our chance to lead by example. By organizing an event that prioritizes inclusion, visibility, and respect, we can start changing how powerlifting is seen and experienced in Switzerland. Now is the time to act—so that the next generation of lifters sees a place for themselves in the sport from the very beginning.
  4. Measures
To make powerlifting in Switzerland more inclusive and accessible, we’re taking real, practical steps to create a competition that truly welcomes everyone. We want this event to set a new standard—not just in performance, but in community, diversity, and support. First, we’re designing the competition to be approachable for all lifters. This means creating beginner-friendly entry options so that newcomers can take part without feeling overwhelmed. We’ll make sure men and women have equal visibility, equal stage time, and equal recognition. Everyone deserves the same spotlight, no matter their level or background. We’ll also actively reach out to groups that are underrepresented in the sport, especially women and young people. Through social media and personal outreach, we’ll share real stories of athletes from all walks of life to inspire others and show that powerlifting truly is for everyone. To make the experience supportive and respectful, we’ll train our staff and volunteers to

  6. Impact
This project will be effective because it directly addresses the barriers that keep people out of powerlifting, especially women and beginners. It offers real opportunities, support, and visibility to those who might otherwise feel excluded. By creating a competition that is welcoming, professionally organized, and focused on inclusion, we are not just improving one event. We are helping to reshape how the sport is experienced and understood in Switzerland. When newcomers feel supported, they are more likely to participate. When women see themselves represented equally, they are more likely to feel that they belong. And when the wider community sees lifters of all backgrounds celebrated, the perception of powerlifting begins to change. We know this approach works because similar events in other countries have already made a real difference. They have helped grow local communities, bring in new members, and build a stronger base for the sport. With our experience and the support of KD
  7. Special Quality of the Project; Suitability of the Organization
What makes our project truly special is the combination of high-level sport and deep community impact. We are not just planning another powerlifting competition. We are creating an event that reflects the future of the sport: inclusive, respectful, and inspiring. This competition will bring together top athletes and complete beginners on the same platform, showing that strength comes in many forms and that everyone deserves the chance to grow and compete. The atmosphere we want to create will be both professional and welcoming. Every detail, from how we greet first-time lifters to how we highlight female athletes, will reflect our belief that powerlifting should be open to everyone. We want to challenge the idea that the sport is only for elite lifters or a certain type of person. Our event will demonstrate what is possible when a sport is built on fairness, openness, and community. What also sets this project apart is the team behind it.
