Last Mile Energy Access

  1. Goal
Reach and serve 10,000 households with clean cookstove and solar powered lantern. Dedicated to alleviating poverty, enhancing public health, improving lives, and protecting the environment. While generating significant social and environmental impact
  2. Challenge
Close to one billion people in Africa do not have access to clean cooking and rely on biomass or kerosene, which cause high levels of indoor air pollution. As a result, about 600,000 African women and children die annually from the hazards of cooking
  3. Need for Action
Lack of access to reliable energy affects women and girls most in energy-poor markets given their often inherently disadvantaged positions, exacerbating existing inequalities and presenting hurdles to improving their livelihoods.
  4. Measures
Number of households reached and served . We need funding of CHF 730000 to be able to serve 10000 women and children.
  5. Cooperation Partner
We are working with community based leaders.
  6. Impact
Girls will have more time to do their homework thanks to the light provided by their solar powered lantern. While ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all (SDG7) and an inclusive and equitable quality education.
  7. Special Quality of the Project; Suitability of the Organization
Our work is Locally Led Climate Action (LLCA) initiative- We not only understand the problem, but we live it Every Single Day. We have local exposure, understand local requirements to a cultural base which is important in delivering value.
