Goal
The goal of the project is to provide training on regenerative agriculture, seeds and tools to rural women in Malawi to enable them get out of poverty. We will initially target 320 women and scale up the project, applying the lessons learned to make the project better.

Challenge
Malawi is one of the countries most affected by climate change, with increasing frequency of climate shocks such as droughts, floods, and erratic rainfall patterns. These environmental disruptions have had a devastating impact on agriculture—the backbone of the country’s economy, leading to widespread food insecurity and deepening poverty.
Official projections indicate that food security in Malawi is expected to worsen significantly in 2025, placing further strain on already vulnerable rural communities. In the last 16 years, land degradation has resulted in a 15% decrease in arable land resulting in an annual crop yield reduction of 0.5 percent.
Addressing this problem requires sustainable, community-based solutions that promote self-reliance and climate resilience. Empowering local populations—especially women—with the skills and tools to engage in sustainable agriculture and enterprise development can create long-term impact and help break the cycle of poverty.
