Global Education Campaign

Die Bildungskampagne hat folgende Ziele: Sensibilisierung für Hörseh-Behinderung/Taubblindheit, Förderung der Bildungs- und Inklusionsrechte von betroffenen Kindern; neue nachhaltige nationale und regionale Netzwerke; neue wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse aus und für die Fokus-Regionen; konkrete nächste Schritte in allen Fokus-Ländern. The Global Education Campaign has the following objectives: raising awareness of deafblindness, promoting the educational and inclusion rights of children living with a form of deafblindness; new sustainable national and regional networks; new scientific findings from and for the focus regions; concrete next steps in all focus countries.

Der 1. und 2. Weltbericht der World Federation of the Deafblind WFDB und unveröffentlichte Daten von Deafblind International DbI zeigen deutlich, dass Kinder mit Hörseh-Behinderung und Taubblindheit immer noch oft „im Stich gelassen“ werden – oft sind sie von Bildung ausgeschlossen. The 1st and the 2nd Global Report of the World Federation of the Deafblind WFDB and unpublished data of Deafblind International DbI clearly show that children with deafblindess are still very much “left behind” - often excluded from education.

Die globale Bildungskampagne „LET ME IN“ von DbI ist die Antwort darauf. Die Kampagne wurde 2023 ins Leben gerufen und wird in enger Zusammenarbeit mit der WFDB durchgeführt. Sie konzentriert sich auf 23 Länder in Afrika, Asien und Lateinamerika. Zusätzlich wurde Anfang 2025 eine Forschungsinitiative lanciert in diesen 3 Fokus-Regionen. DbI’s Global Education Campaign “LET ME IN” is the answer to this. Launched in 2023 and run in close collaboration with the World Federation of the Deafblind WFDB , the campaign focuses on 23 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. In addition, a research initiative was launched in these three focus regions at the beginning of 2025.

Wir arbeiten datengestützt mit einem Bottom-up- und Top-down-Ansatz sowie einem starken Netzwerk auf mehreren Ebenen. Die Forschungsinitiative ist ein wichtiger Puzzlestein und so sind regionale Konferenzen im 2024 (Argentinien), 2025 (Nepal), 2026 (Ägypten oder Südafrika) sowie die Weltkonferenz 2027 in der Schweiz. National setzen wir auf Projekte, die vor Ort entwickelt worden sind. Inkl. Welt-Konferenz kostet das Projekt rund 1 Million CHF. We work with data using a bottom-up and top-down approach, as well as a strong network at multiple levels. The research initiative is an important piece of the puzzle, and regional conferences are planned for 2024 (Argentina), 2025 (Nepal), 2026 (Egypt or South Africa), and the World Conference in 2027 in Switzerland. Nationally, we are focusing on projects that have been developed locally. Including the World Conference, the project costs around CHF 1 million.

Engagiert beteiligt sind die World Federation of the Deafblind WFDB sowie Mitgliedsorganisationen von DbI wie Sense, Royal Kentalis, cbm, Perkins International oder, in der Schweiz, der SZBLIND, die Tanne, Schweizerische Stiftung für Taubblinde, und DeafBlind Inclusion mit Sitz in Luzern. DeafBlind Inclusion kümmert sich im Auftrag von DbI und der WFDB auch um die lokalen Vorbereitungen für die Weltkonferenz 2027. The World Federation of the Deafblind WFDB and DbI member organizations such as Sense, Royal Kentalis, cbm, Perkins International or in Switzerland the SZBLIND, the Tanne, the Swiss Foundation for the Deafblind and DeafBlind Inclusion based in Lucerne are actively involved. DeafBlind Inclusion is also taking care of the local preparations for the 2027 World Conference on behalf of DbI and the WFDB.

Das Projekt ist für 5,8 Millionen Kinder, ihre Familien, Fachkräfte und Forscher:innen in diesem Bereich relevant. Es ist nachhaltig, daten- und evidenzbasiert und stützt sich auf vielschichtige Netzwerke auf nationaler, regionaler und weltweiter Ebene. The project is relevant for 5.8 million children, their families, professionals, and researchers in the field. It is sustainable, data- and evidence-based, and is founded on multi-layered networks national, regional and worldwide.

Deafblind International ist DIE Dachorganisation in diesem Bereich und verfügt über ein sehr starkes Netzwerk und eine ausgeprägte Kultur der Vielfalt, was dieses Projekt stärkt. Was uns hingegen fehlt, sind ausreichende finanzielle Mittel aus eigener Kraft. Daher ist dieses Projekt angewiesen auf IHRE Spende. Diese wird zu 100 % in dieses Projekt und damit auch in die nächste Weltkonferenz 2027 in der Schweiz investiert oder in unser ICF-Projekt für Kinder. Deafblind International is THE umbrella organisation in the field and has a very strong network and diversity culture and empowers this project. What we lack, however, are sufficient financial resources from our own efforts. Therefore, this project depends on YOUR donation. This will be invested 100% in this project and thus also in the next World Conference in Switzerland in 2027 or in our ICF project for children.
