Goal
All children of homeless parents have consistent access to quality education, from early childhood development to formal schooling and Impaq homeschooling, enabling them to thrive academically, build self-worth, and break the cycle of generational poverty.
This project fosters a more inclusive and equitable society where every child, regardless of their living conditions, receives the support needed to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to their community.

Challenge
Children of homeless parents from minority groups in South Africa face major barriers to education. They are excluded from early childhood development (ECD), struggle in mainstream schools, and often drop out due to instability and poverty. Because they do not qualify under Black Economic Empowerment (BEE), they receive no government support or funding, leaving them without access to essential services.
This problem is urgent and relevant. Education is a basic right and a proven way to break the cycle of poverty, yet these children are being left behind. As the number of affected families grows, the need for action becomes critical.
If we fail to intervene now, more children will fall into long-term poverty, unemployment, and social exclusion. This project addresses the gap by providing full educational support, from ECD to formal schooling and Impaq Homeschool, ensuring every child, regardless of background, has the chance to learn, grow, and succeed.

Need for Action
Children of homeless parents from minority groups in South Africa are being denied access to education due to poverty, instability, and exclusion from government funding under BEE policies. They cannot access early childhood development (ECD), often drop out of school, and have no support systems to re-enter education through alternatives like Impaq Homeschool.
This is a critical issue because education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Without it, these children face a future of unemployment, poor health, and continued social exclusion.
The urgency is growing as more minority families fall into homelessness and remain unsupported. If we do not act now, these children will become a lost generation, left behind through no fault of their own.
Immediate action is needed to provide consistent, inclusive education that gives every child, regardless of background or housing status, the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a better future.

Measures
We will provide a full education pathway for children of homeless minority families, starting with access to Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs, enrolling eligible children in local schools, and offering Impaq Homeschooling for dropouts or those needing flexible learning. Daily meals, school transport, uniforms, and learning materials will be included to ensure consistent attendance and engagement.
To support this, we will partner with local educators, ECD centers, and homeschooling facilitators. Trained volunteers and social workers will provide academic and emotional support, while caregivers will be involved through community workshops.
We require infrastructure such as learning spaces, digital devices for homeschooling, trained personnel, and reliable transport.
These measures will directly improve access to education, provide stability, and help break the cycle of poverty for vulnerable children who are currently excluded from government support.
