Goals
The overarching goal of FSD is to promote sustainable development in conflict-affected countries through humanitarian operations and to contribute to regional stability and security in local communities; the entirety of its activities aims to alleviate and diminish the social, economic and environmental impacts of conflict, landmines, unexploded ordnance and environmental contamination worldwide.

Measures
FSD has a long history implementing mine action projects worldwide; along with its presence in those countries, FSD has also implemented a number of complementary projects contributing to social sustainability of local communities. This helps to build trust in communities, provides local income generation and employment opportunities and provides a mutually beneficial relationship in areas FSD works for security and development alike.
