Using a multi-disciplinary approach (law, sociology, geography, history and management) CIES provides research, top-level education and consulting services to the world of sport. CIES encourages continual progress and sustainable development in the management of sport around the world by fully utilising its international network of partners. At CIES, we actively promote the on-going exchange of knowledge and experiences from all of our research and education partners. CIES is where academic research meets practical management, resulting in research-based solutions that can be adapted to local needs and requirements.

1. Purpose (SOGC)

   développer la recherche, l'enseignement, la formation et les services dans les domaines notamment juridique, économique et sociologique ayant trait au sport; dans le cadre de ses diverses activités, elle dispose de l'appui de l'Université; la fondation met, notamment, sur pied une bibliothèque et un centre de documentation, organise divers enseignements et cours de formation continue, des colloques ainsi que des réunions, effectue des recherches et des publications, développe les échanges scientifiques avec des institutions partenaires en Suisse et à l'étranger, exécute des mandats et prête divers services sur demande de tiers; pour ses projets, la fondation peut s'assurer, dans la mesure utile, le concours d'experts scientifiques externes.
