    LafargeHolcim Awards competition: The international Awards competition recognizes innovative projects and future-oriented concepts – and is the most significant global competition for sustainable design. It is the mission of the Foundation to select and support initiatives that combine sustainable construction solutions with architectural excellence and enhanced quality of life beyond technical solutions.

Funding History

Legacy Restored in Niger - The project for a religious and secular complex in the village of Dandaji promotes economic growth in the region through innovation in environmental technol-ogies. The proposed new mosque as well as the resto-ration of an existing house of worship are accordingly conceived as test beds for sustainable research.

Heritage Reframed - Theproject’sbasicobjectivesaretwofold:torehabilitateexistingurban,landscape,andarchitecturalelementsthroughreuse and complementary additions – and, to demonstrate the university’s aim to foreground sustainability as part of its pedagogic program through the use of state-of-the-art construction materials and energy systems.
