The Medicines Patent Pool (MPP) is a United Nations-backed public health organisation working to increase access to, and facilitate the development of, life-saving medicines for low- and middle-income countries. The MPP negotiates with patent holders for licences on life-saving medicines for low- and middle-income countries. These licences permit multiple manufacturers to produce and distribute generic versions of patented medicines in developing countries.

1. Purpose (SOGC)
